What is the meaning behind this phrase?

When ones person, organization, company, government or influential people. Made mistakes, failure that in dangers them and everyone else. 

We should forgive, and learn the from those mistakes. That is why, we shouldn't forget and keep the records of people involves, place of event and time it occurs.

This is the learning we should learn.
